Rolls Royce is the dream car for any buyer seeking glamour and
performance. The lustrous and opulent Rolls Royce cars are treated as the symbol of royalty. For ages it
has led the market segment and has been the standard for companies to reach this particular segment. Born
out of the partnership between Charles Stewart Rolls and Frederick Henry Royce, the British company started officially in the year 1906. Rolls-Royce Ltd introduced their first vehicle the same year of inception. The first model was named Silver Ghost and
was a six-cylinder vehicle. Right from their first vehicle Rolls Royce defined their product
by its quality and performance. Their Silver Ghost was named 'the best car in the world'. During
the 1920s the company introduced the Phantom I which introduced new technologies during that period. It had
a pushrod-operated overhead valve engine with detachable cylinder heads. This was also a grand success. Then in 1931 the company acquired Bentley and things went smoothly. After the world war in
the 1940s, Rolls Royce opened its new factory and unveiled one of their most significant models, the Silver Wraith. After
the Silver Wraith, all the vehicles were fully manufactured in Rolls Royce's plant itself. In 1950 the company launched its eight cylinder flamboyant cruiser named Phantom IV. It was one of the unique products of Rolls Royce as it was given to the state heads and to the royal family. During 1950-1960 the brand had its series of vehicles named
the Silver Cloud I, Silver Cloud II,Silver Cloud III, Silver Shadow and the Phantom VI. During
the 70s the company was nationalized as it filed bankruptcy due to financial troubles and in 1980 it was acquired by Vickers PLC. The following year the new generation
of Rolls Royce was introduced in the name of Silver Spirit. It was designed keeping in mind the safety and emission regulation internationally. It attracted youth and again with this new model the company changed hands between BMW and Volkswagen. Volkswagen
finally won the Bentley division and BMW won the name Rolls Royce.
