Ferrari the term is associated with Formula One racing. One of the successful competitors in Formula One, the company was formed by Enzo Ferrari in 1928 as Scuderia Ferrari. Initially, the company was concentrated
on manufacturing race cars and sponsored drivers for the race. Later in the year 1947, it got into the platform of manufacturing street legal vehicles. Then in the subsequent year, the company started its own manufacturing after leaving its race car production with the help of Fiat and Alfa Romeo car parts in the year 1948. The first product which came out of the plant was
the Tipo 166. Due to financial troubles, the company was sold to Fiat but the racing division was
still owned by Enzo Ferrari until 1988. The first car unveiled got its name from
the angine of a single cylinder in cubic centimeters. Enzo chose a V12 engine to power his vehicle as it was versatile to be fitted in
the Grand Tourer and single seater sports models. Before his death at the age of 90 in the year 1988, Ferrari launched its super car model Ferrari F40.
Even after the successful models 250 GT, 250 GTO and 275 GTB Ferrari still continued using Pininfarina, the design house of Ferrari. To add credit to the manufacturer, a few more
of their popular series include the 246 Dino, 365 GTB Daytona, 512BB, 308 GTS, Testarossa, 355 and 550 Maranello.
