The air conditioning system of your vehicle is split into two sections. The discharge side which is the high pressure side and the suction side which is the low pressure side. As the Volvo AC compressor is a pump, it has both the inlet side and the outlet side. The suction or the inlet side of the Volvo AC compressor is connected to the evaporator and the refrigerant gas from the evaporator is drawn from the Volvo AC compressor. Some times the suction process is performed by the accumulator. This refrigerant gas is then compressed in the Volvo AC compressor and the resulting high pressure gas is given to the condenser through the outlet valve. It is also to be noted that the Volvo AC compressor is one of the two junctions which separates the high pressure and the low pressure sides in the air conditioning system.
