The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust pipe. Thus it helps to run your car's engine effectively. The mixture level is monitored by the computer and the engine is supplied with correct amount of fuel. It is the primary measurement device for the fuel control computer in your Land Rover car to know if the engine is given right amount of fuel and not. That is too rich or too lean. If the sensor detects a high level of fuel, the engine computer unit will reduce the amount of fuel entering the engine. If the oxygen sensor detects too much air, the engine computer unit will deliver more fuel to the engine. When the oxygen sensor fails, the computer cannot find the correct mixture level.
