An AC expansion device is nothing but a regulator that is common to a refrigerant. It is also known as Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV). The AC expansion devices are basically used on import and aftermarket systems. This expansion device can sense both temperature and pressure. The main purpose of an AC expansion device is to regulate the refrigerant flow to the evaporator. The location of the AC expansion device is usually between the evaporator inlet and outlet tubes, the liquid and suction lines. The Infiniti AC expansion tube has high advantage than the other tube systems. But as like some other tube systems they have a disadvantage of becoming trammeled or fettered. They consists of small moving parts that has a chance to stick and malfunction due to corrosion.
