Working and Functions of Chrysler Alternator
The alternator is capable of producing more steady current, even when the car is idle. So how does it work to produce electricity? Alternator in Chrysler works by using belts that are connected to the pulley system, so called rotor. At this point it moves the magnets across conductor and these moving magnets generates electrostatic field, which is known as electricity. In other words electricity is produced in the conductor when the rotating magnets cut the flow of electric field around the conductor. The current coming out from the alternator is controlled by voltage regulator to maintain a steady voltage. Finally the diodes convert the alternating current to direct current to be stored in the battery.
When Chrysler alternator stops working, you might not know at that point of time. You can detect the malfunction in an alternator only when the battery gets drained off, therefore it would be tricky to detect the malfunctioning of Chrysler alternator. So when the battery drains you can easily spot that your alternator malfunctions, immediately try to replace with quality parts.
