The air conditioning system has various parts which work together to give the cool driving experience. Among all the components of a AC system, the AC accumulator-drier is one of the important part. It is also called a receiver-drier. If an AC uses the thermal expansion system then liquid refrigerant is used to cool the excess heat and the accumulator-drier are the parts of greater importance.

The accumulator-drier has two main functions. First of all it has to separate the liquid and the gas. An accumulator-drier also has to remove moisture and to filter the dirt. An accumulator- drier has a glass on top of it which is used to charge the system. If the Chevrolet Suburban accumulator-drier has to perform in its regular condition, vapor bubbles should not be visible in the sight glass. But there is a chance for the cloudiness or oil that comes from the refrigerant to be considered as bubbles. So, to charge the system it is not advised to have sight glasses as this over-charges the system. A damage in accumulator- drier may affect the air-conditioning system and thus it requires replacement at right time.
