Cadillac Eldorado A/C Clutch

The Cadillac AC clutch engages and disengages the belt connected to the engine that spins and runs continuously thereby providing energy to run the AC compressor. The belt turns around a rotor that comprises an electromagnet that produces a magnetic field when a current passes through it. The current flowing through the electromagnet powers a friction plate attached to another end of the rotor. The friction plates thus provides power to the car's air conditioning system. The Cadillac Eldorado A/C clutch enables the compressor to shut off even while the engine is running. When current passes through a magnetic coil in the Cadillac AC clutch, the clutch engages. When the current stops when you turn off your air conditioning system, the Cadillac Eldorado AC clutch for the model Eldorado disengages.

The electromagnet provided in the rotor generates a powerful magnetic field through the rotor when it is switched on. As the rotor in the air conditioner and fan belt are made of iron, they are pulled towards each other through the magnetic field. This magnetic field induces force to the friction plates that pushes each other. When these friction plates touch each other, the rotor of air conditioner starts spinning so that the compressor starts moving. When the electromagnet is powered off, the friction plates stop touching each other and hence the compressor stops moving.
