All the recent vehicles either commercial or the luxury series, has the air conditioning system in it. The air conditioner function seems to be a little complex process. Even if the function is a bit complicated, the concept of the AC system is very simple. The major contribution of the AC system is from the compressor. Only with the pressurization of the refrigerant in the compressor, the air is cooled. The compressor has to pressurize the vapor refrigerant with the process of compression. But the refrigerant from the evaporator may have liquid refrigerants. So the BMW 524 A/C accumulator/ drier is used in the AC system to remove this liquid substance from the refrigerant leaving the evaporator output. The BMW 524 A/C accumulator/ drier is connected to the evaporator at its inlet and the compressor to its outlet. First the liquid refrigerant from the evaporator passes through the accumulator where the liquid in it is absorbed and only the gaseous refrigerant flows to the drier.
