The Acura TL power steering rack and pinion steering gear are placed inside a metal tube. A tie rod is connected to the Acura TL power steering rack that extends over each end of the metal tube. The pinion gear is connected to the steering shaft. The gear rotates to move the rack, such that the tie rod makes contact with the steering arm of the spindle when the steering wheel is turned. The rack and pinion steering gear enables the conversion of the rotational motion of the steering wheel to linear motion to make the wheels move.
